Trip to Amish Country

August 6th dear husband gave the family an unexpected trip to Shipshewana, Indiana. This is our favorite place to visit. Shipshewana is an Amish community. We highly respect the Amish for their dedication to the faith. The trip has always been a source of peace for our family. Listening to the clip-clopping of the horses hooves as they make their way through town is music to my ears!! I wish some one would put it on CD!! My son has made an art of the sound for me!! When I am homesick for the sounds of the horses dear son starts clicking away for me!

We also enjoy the wonderful food that is served. Tasty noodles, with moist tender chicken and dressing. It is truly a treat!
I think the most fun I have is in the fabric shops! I love to buy fabric. Just to look at the many colors and to feel the different textures is a pleasure in itself. Of course, the ultimate is the purchase!
After eating at one of the resturants in Middlebury we walked around admiring the items for sale. My eyes landed on the most beautiful porcelain Amish doll I had ever encountered. She was absolutely beautiful!!!!!
I told my husband about her after we had left the area. Now my birthday was coming up a few days later........:) soooooo!!!! He went back to the restaurant to purchase an early birthday for me!!
Joy of all joys there she was in all her beauty!! Mine all mine. But wait, along the way I spied another beauty, her brother!!!! How awful it would be to leave him alone with out his sister.
More than I could bear. Soooooo, dear husband picks up the little brother and now we have them in a place of honor on my dresser!!! Every morning I awake to my little beauties! I have the greatest guy of all, even without the dolls! Thanks Dale for my babies!!
Hoping to return after Christmas!!! Who knows????!!!!

May the Good Lord bless and keep you this day!!!
